Description
The Beaver is the original triathlon event at Belvoir Castle. 2010 will be its 5th year and will once again be based in the stunning grounds of the Castle itself, with all racing taking place in the Castle grounds and it's surrounding area.
The 2009 move to the early season date proved popular, giving athletes the opportunity to use this event to really test themselves early on in the season. It is also ideally placed for anybody racing a longer distance event during the summer.
The event will take place in the afternoon with the little beaver taking place in the morning. Changes for 2010 include an altered bike route that avoids the descent in to Woolsthorpe by Belvoir and brings cyclists through the grounds of the castle, past transition on each of the 3 laps, giving everyones supporting entourage something to cheer about.
Although early season the shallow 1900m swim will ensure the water temperature is relatively high. After a long run to transition athletes then complete the rolling 80k bike course and finish with a 3 lap, spectator friendly 12m run leading to the castle on the top of the hill on each lap.
You will be thankful for and enjoy the finish line!
As always, we welcome all athletes and hope to see our usual mix of ages and abilities. In 2010 there will be a cut off time for the bike, and run elements of this event (details to be announced). And all finishers will receive a great finishers memento to remember your beaver experience.
